How do credit unions differ from banks?
Credit unions are not-for-profit organizations that are owned by the members of that credit union whereas banks are for-profit institutions owned by shareholders.
Because of these reasons, we are able to pass substantial savings on to our members in comparison with other financial institutions. You could save hundreds - perhaps thousands - of dollars each year by using credit union services as opposed to a commercial bank. As a member-owned financial institution, Wescom Financial returns operating profits to our members, so you can enjoy:
- Fewer fees
- Lower loan rates
- Potentially higher rates of return on savings accounts
- Personal attention
- Free financial education
- And more!
How is a credit union governed?
Credit unions are governed by their Board of Directors, who serve and represent the best interest of the members. Every member, regardless of the amount in their account, can cast a vote to elect the credit union’s board members.
What are some of the advantages of Wescom membership?
Credit union members receive a number of benefits including:
- Fewer fees
- Lower loan rates
- Potentially higher rates of return on savings accounts

- Free financial education
- And more!

What is the Timely Repayment Incentive Program (TRIP)?
The Timely Repayment Incentive Program (TRIP) gives members, who make timely payments on their auto or personal loan, the opportunity to reduce their interest rate over time by receiving a total interest rate reduction of up to 2.00% APR.*
Eligible loans will have their interest rate reduced in 0.50% increments for every six consecutive on-time monthly payments. Your payment amount will not change. However, additional funds will be applied towards the principal balance, which can shorten the term of the loan and the total amount of interest paid over the life of the loan.
* Total discount of up to 2.00% APR applied in increments of up to 0.50% for every six consecutive on-time monthly payments and is available with auto and personal loans funded on or after 5/1/2024. Maximum discount will never cause the final APR to be lower than the floor rate for the specific loan and term at the time of funding. The monthly payment amount remains constant, with additional money going toward the principal, which shortens the term of the loan and the total amount paid over the life of the loan. Some restrictions may apply.
What types of loans are eligible for the Timely Repayment Incentive Program (TRIP)?
The Timely Incentive Repayment Program (TRIP) applies to auto loans and personal loans only. The following loans are not considered eligible:
- First-Time Borrower
- Option Plus
- Pre-approved personal loans
- Refinance or cash-out loans
- Emergency or natural disaster loans
- Employee loans
What are the benefits of the Timely Repayment Incentive Program (TRIP)?
Members who are enrolled in TRIP can use their rate reductions for the following:
- To reduce the total amount of finance charges
- Help pay the principal loan balance faster
- Save you money over the life of the loan
How do I know if I'm eligible for the Timely Repayment Incentive Program (TRIP)?
Members who fund a new auto or personal loan will be automatically enrolled in the program depending on their loan terms. Enrollment is automatic and there is no application required.
What is considered an on-time payment for the Timely Repayment Incentive Program (TRIP)?
A payment is considered on-time if made no later than 15 days of the due date.
If a late payment occurs, the TRIP payment counter will be reset. Members will retain already applied TRIP rate discount(s) and can receive an additional rate reduction, after making another six consecutive on-time monthly payments.
I don't have the Timely Repayment Incentive Program (TRIP) on my auto or personal loan. How can I apply?
Members are automatically enrolled in the Timely Incentive Repayment Program (TRIP) depending on their loan terms. There is no application process.
How will I know if I've received a Timely Repayment Incentive Program (TRIP) rate discount on my loan?
A letter will be sent notifying you each time a TRIP rate discount is applied to your loan.

What's the difference between a debit card and an ATM card?
A debit card is linked to your checking account and draws from the available money in the linked account. You may use a debit card with a PIN for ATM and Point of Sale transactions. These transactions immediately withdraw the funds from your account. A debit card may also be used without a PIN for signature transaction at merchants that accept Visa cards. Signature transactions place the funds on hold and transactions post in approximately two days.

Are there any discounts for first-time auto loan borrowers?
Yes! A member who finances a loan under the First-Time Borrower Program will be eligible for a rate reduction after six months of consecutive timely payments.
The rate will be lowered to remove 2.00% from the current interest rate. If the rate is decreased, a letter will be sent to the member notifying them of the rate decrease.
* Total discount of up to 2.00% APR applied in increments of up to 0.50% for every six consecutive on-time monthly payments. Maximum discount will never cause the final APR to be lower than the floor rate for the specific loan and term at the time of funding. The monthly payment amount remains constant, with additional money going toward the principal, which shortens the term of the loan and the total amount paid over the life of the loan. Some restrictions may apply.

Mortgage
What is a Mortgage Loan?
A mortgage is a loan to finance the purchase of your home. When you close on a mortgage, your home becomes collateral for the loan. You will be required to sign a legal contract stating that you promise to pay the debt, including interest and other costs, typically over the course of 15 to 30 years.
What are your mortgage rates?
Mortgages are bought and sold by investors on the Secondary Market. Rates are determined by the amount an investor will spend on your mortgage. For our most current mortgage rates, visit our Rates page.
Can I get pre-approved before buying a home?
Yes! Pre-approval is as easy as talking with one of our friendly Mortgage Loan Officers! Click here to get started.
Getting pre-approved before buying a home provides you with valuable information and the price range that works best with your budget. A pre-approval also makes you a more attractive applicant, as the seller knows your financing has already been approved.
What are the closing costs for my mortgage?
The specific amount of your closing costs varies by situation. Appraisal fees, title charges, closing fees may all vary from state to state and also from lender to lender. To evaluate your closing fees, we've created three categories of which you should remain aware:
- Third party fees
- Prepaid fees - Taxes & Insurance
- Lender fees
Third Party Fees
- Appraisal fee
- Credit report fee
- Settlement / closing fee
- Survey fee
- Tax service fee
- Title insurance fee
- Flood certification fees
- Courier/mailing fees
- Condo/PUD/HOA fees
We collect any third-party fees and pass them on to the person who actually performed the service.
Prepaid fees - Taxes & Insurance
- State/Local Taxes
- Recording fees
- Homeowner's Insurance
These fees will most likely have to be paid regardless of the lender you choose. If some lenders don't quote you fees that include taxes and other unavoidable fees, don't assume that you won't have to pay it. It probably means that the lender hasn't done the research necessary to provide accurate closing costs.
Lender Fees
- Points (not always applicable)
- Underwriting Fee
- Loan processing fees
These fees are retained by the lender. Points are used to provide you with the lowest rates possible. This is the category of fees that you should compare very closely from lender to lender before making a decision.
Please note, this may not be an exhaustive list.

Wescom does everything we can to safeguard your password, but whether you're using an ATM, Teller#Phone, or Online Banking, you play an essential role in keeping your password safe.
Here are a few tips for keeping your password safe:
- Don't use easy-to-guess information such as your name, date of birth, telephone number, address, and so on.
- Where possible, use a combination of letters and numbers in your password. Those types of passwords are harder to guess. A good rule is not to use any word found in a dictionary. Also, don't use repeated or easily guessed numeric values (e.g., 1111 or 1234).
- Don't write your password down.
- Don't include your password in any file, including a word-processing document, web page or an electronic mail message. (If anyone else reveals a password to you, delete the information promptly.)
- Avoid using the same password on different systems. If an unauthorized user gets your password, he could gain access to every system on which you're using that password.
- Change your password regularly.
- Do not leave your computer unattended after you log in to Online Banking, and be sure to log out when you're finished.
- Do not save your password when logging in to Online Banking

Savings
Certificate of Deposit (CD) vs. Share Certificate. What's the difference?
Both Share Certificates and Certificates of Deposit (CD’s) offer a long-term solution to saving your money. They are considered to be a low-risk way to help your money grow over a fixed period of time. The major difference between the two is that a CD is a product that earns interest, offered by a traditional bank, and insured by the FDIC, while a Share Certificate earns dividends, is a product offered by member-owned, non-profit Credit Unions - like Wescom. Profits made by Credit Unions are returned to the members in the form of reduced fees, higher savings rates, and lower loan rates. As a member, you earn dividends on your money through competitive rates. Share Certificate funds are federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), up to $250,000.
For more information, visit our Share Certificate Page and see our current saving account rates on our Rates Page.
Can I withdraw funds from my Certificate before it is mature?
Yes, however there is a penalty for withdrawing from your certificate account early. To learn more, or to explore other options, contact us today.
What terms are available for Share Certificates?
At Wescom Financial we offer a variety of different term options spanning from 3 to 60 months (3, 6, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48 and 60). To lock in a rate, just choose the length of time you want to leave the money in the account to grow. Certificate Accounts provide more stability than a Money Market Account because the time period is locked in and the rate is guaranteed.
What is an Add-On Share Certificate?
An Add-On Share Certificate works much the same as traditional certificates, with one exception: You can make additional deposits to the account during the term.
Add-on certificates give you the flexibility to make additional deposits to your account after opening. For example, you might open an Add-On Certificate with an initial deposit of $500. You might then choose to deposit $100 per month into the account for the remainder of the maturity term. Please note that Wescom offers an Add-On Certificate only during the promotional period.
For more information, visit our Share Certificate Page and see our current saving account rates on our Rates Page.

How do I access my previous statements or tax documents?
For historical statements or tax documents, please contact your financial advisor.
Who should I contact if I have questions or concerns during this transition?
Your advisor is your primary contact for any questions or concerns you may have during this transition. Please continue to reach out to your Financial Advisor or our Wealth Management Team at 1-888-879-0558
They will be reaching out to you in the coming weeks to provide you with more clarity on how these changes will serve to enhance the quality and scope of services we provide you with.
Will my fees increase because of this change?
For most brokerage relationships, the fee structures will be similar. For most advisory accounts, the fee schedules will stay the same. Your advisor will provide specific information on any applicable fees as the transition date approaches.
Will I need to choose different investments because of this change?
In most instances, your investments, allocations, and models will remain the same. If changes are necessary, your advisor will discuss suitable alternatives with you.
Can I continue to receive ACH or electronic transfers to my bank account? What about setting up a new ACH transfer to my bank account?
Existing transfers set up prior to May 5 from your investment to your bank account will continue, however there will be an interruption between 05/15/2025 and 05/23/2025. On May 19th, if you need to set up ACH, you can begin by using the instructions below. You will also need your LPL account number.
ACH
Bank of New York
ABA# 021000018
Credit to account: 146000000 + LPL Account #
(ex. 14600000012345678)
Will I continue to receive my monthly distributions?
Yes. Your advisor will ensure that your existing distribution strategies are maintained on the new LPL platform. For many brokerage relationships directly with a mutual fund or annuity company, the impact is minimal. The primary change is the broker/dealer of record, transitioning from CUSO Financial Services, L.P., to LPL Financial, which is mainly an operational adjustment. As a result, your investment statements will remain similar to their current format.
Why is Wescom Financial Services (WFS) changing its name to Wescom Financial Wealth Management?
To better align with our vision and the comprehensive financial solutions we provide, our Wescom Financial Services (WFS) division will now be called Wescom Financial Wealth Management. This new name reflects our dedication to helping you grow, manage, and protect your wealth more effectively through all stages of life.
Will my investments remain the same?
Yes. For most members, the investments, asset allocation models, and money managers will remain unchanged. If an investment or account cannot be transferred, your advisor will discuss alternative options with you.

- Login to Wescom’s online or mobile banking
- Scroll to the balance information for the investment you would like to access nd check the as of date. If an investment balance’s as of date has updated after May 16, 2025, then that individual investment has transitioned and can be accessed by clicking on that investment.

If the balance still reflects a May 16, 2025, date, then the account is still in transition.

Your Wescom account will automatically have this function enabled for you via the Mobile App or Online Banking. Why am I seeing duplicate account balances or incorrect amounts for my investments?
Although we are diligently working through this gradual data migration with LPL, some investment account(s) may still be in transition, and therefore, may not have updated balance information or access to the Account View investment platform through online and mobile banking.
To determine if the migration of an investment has been completed, login to online or mobile banking and check the investment balance date. If the investment balance date was updated after May 16, 2025, then that individual investment has transitioned, and the Account View investment platform can be accessed by clicking on that investment. If you have multiple investments accounts, please be aware that not all investments may be available at the same time as this transition is by carrier and can take some time for all investments to be reflected. If you have questions regarding your balances, please call your Financial Advisor directly at 1-888-879-0558
How can I stay informed of this change?
Throughout the month of April 2025, Wescom Financial will be hosting a series of educational webinars for all of our Wealth Management members to provide you with important updates regarding the upcoming conversion.
What type of accounts may be delayed in populating in Account View?
Accounts custodied at LPL will be available the week of conversion; however, direct business accounts are dependent on the processing times of each sponsor/custodian. Typically, the data feed linkage can take as long as 10-14 weeks post-conversion.
Can I access my accounts directly?
You will be able to access your custodied (excluding direct business) accounts as soon as May 20, 2025 by creating a profile and directly logging into LPL’s Account View system. I received multiple packets in the mail from CUSO Financial Services. Why am I receiving these?
The packets you received are required legal notices regarding the transition from CUSO Financial Services to LPL Financial. If you hold multiple investment accounts, you may receive a packet for each account, as each account must be notified individually. No action is required if you wish to continue with your Financial Advisor at Wescom Financial.
Can I still view my balance on my Wescom Financial member account statement?
No, beginning June 1st, investment balances will no longer be reflected on your Wescom Financial member statements. You will continue to receive your separate investment account statements, which will be available in the Account View investment platform. You will be directed on your Wescom Financial statement to where to view your investment balances. For historical statements or tax documents, please contact your Financial Advisor.
If my accounts move, will there be tax implications?
There should be no tax implications with the movement of accounts. Your accounts will be transferred to comparable products at LPL. However, we would recommend you consult your tax professional for further information.
Can I still use the NETXInvestor app?
No. As of May 16, 2025, the NETXInvestor app will no longer be operational, and the links on wescomwealth.org to EVISION and CLEAR1 will be removed.
I have a self-directed account but have been assigned a Financial Advisor. Can I still make self-directed trades?

When will my accounts transfer to LPL?
LPL will receive assets on May 17th, 2025. Please note you will be able to continue to conduct all of your business with your Financial Advisor during this entire timeframe.
What happens if I have a self-directed investment account?
We will be enhancing your service experience by assigning you a Financial Advisor to serve as an additional resource beginning May 16, 2025. However, you will still be able to place self-directed trades on your own. An introduction to your new Financial Advisor will be mailed to you in the coming weeks.
Is my money safe?
LPL has the same regulatory and protection requirements as we do. LPL is a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) member firm, subject to federal securities laws and the rules of industry self-regulatory organizations. LPL is a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) which provides account protection up to $500,000 per member, of which $250,000 may be claims for cash. An explanatory brochure is available at www.sipc.org. LPL purchases $1 billion of excess SIPC insurance that provides additional protection for LPL accounts to cover aggregate net equity (of all member accounts), subject to conditions and limitations. The account protection applies when an SIPC member firm fails financially and is unable to meet obligations to securities members, but it does not protect against losses from the rise and fall in the market value of investments.
Who is LPL Financial (LLC)?
LPL Financial is a leading wealth management company and the largest independent broker-dealer in the U.S. They provide services and support to financial advisors and institutions, enabling them to assist their clients in achieving their financial goals. LPL's mission is to enable advisors to build successful practices by providing them with the necessary resources and tools.
Why did I receive a statement from Pershing with a $0 balance?
Members with a Pershing or self-directed account will receive a closing statement with a $0 balance. This is to show the account has been transitioned to LPL and the account has been closed at the previous provider. If your statement still shows a balance, please contact your Financial Advisor directly at 1-888-879-0558 and they will assist you in closing out this account.
If my accounts move, will my investments change?
Your fundamental investment strategy and allocations will remain the same for the most part. In some cases, LPL may have advanced investment options that we can discuss after your accounts move.
Will your move to LPL cost me anything?
There is no cost whatsoever to you.
My household has multiple investment accounts. Will these all automatically display in Account View?
No. Only investments accounts that match the Social Security Number of the primary Wescom Financial accountholder will automatically display. To combine access of additional investment accounts into a household view, please contact your Financial Advisor.

If you receive an error accessing your investment details through online or mobile banking on accounts with an updated balance as of or after May 16,2025, please contact your Financial Advisor at 1-888-879-0558
