What we do

How does Wescom Credit Union protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings. Where appropriate, we use security encoding techniques to protect against unauthorized access to personal records, ensure accuracy and integrity of data, and protect your confidentiality.

How does Wescom Credit Union collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

  • Open an account or use your credit or debit card
  • Show your driver's license or give us your contact information
  • Make deposits or withdrawals from your account

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • Sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes-information about your creditworthiness.
  • Affiliates from using your information to market to you.
  • Sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you.

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

What happens when I limit sharing for an account I hold jointly with someone else?

Your choices will apply to everyone on your account.




Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Our affiliates include companies with a common corporate identity of Wescom Credit Union; financial companies such as Wescom Financial Services, Wescom Insurance Services, and others such as CUSO Mortgage, Inc.


Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Wescom Credit Union does not share with nonaffiliates so they can market to you.

Joint marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

  • Our joint marketing partners include insurance companies.


Other Important Information

If you are a California resident, California state law gives you additional rights to limit information sharing even if such sharing is otherwise permitted under federal law. With respect to California residents, Wescom Credit Union allows you to limit our sharing your personal information in the following instance

  • You can limit our sharing your nonpublic personal information with affiliates to the extent that such information is not related to either: (1) your transactions or experiences with us; or (2) your creditworthiness.
  • You can limit our sharing your nonpublic personal information under a joint marketing agreement with joint marketing partners.
