The new flat check card and credit card contains all of the same informationas our previous cards, such as the card number, expiration date, and yourname. The only difference is this information will no longer be raised (alsoknown as embossed) on the card. These new cards are printed flat.
With the new flat card, you willno longer face the inconvenience of faded or rubbed-off card information. The new flat cards will remain legible and easy to read for the lifetime of the card*.
Embossed printing was necessary in the past when the card information was captured manually through a hand-held machine and pressure-sensitive paper. But new technology now captures all of that same informationelectronically, so there is no longer a need for credit cards to be embossed.
*Please note, IMAGINE THAT! Cards will retain the old, embossed style.
